The Lion Inn is a traditional, country pub in Worcestershire located in the heart of the beautiful and thriving village of Clifton-upon-Teme, within close proximity to the local villages of Martley, Bromyard, Tenbury Wells, the Shelsleys and Great Witley.  Surrounded by some of the region’s finest beer, ale and cider producers, we serve a variety of locally produced beers and ales, along with a diverse menu of homemade food.

The Lion Inn country pub in Worcestershire has been serving thirsty customers for over 200 years, and is blessed to be surrounded by some of the region’s finest beer, ale and cider producers, including Wye Valley Brewery, Westons Cider, Oldfields and Hobsons Brewery.

We currently stock Butty Bach and  HPA from Wye Valley Brewey – An award winning family owned business located only 9 miles away in Stoke Lacy, Bromyard. 

We also stock Henry Westons Vintage Cider, Stowford Press Apple Cider and Stowford Press Dark Berry Cider, from Westons Cider in Ledbury, Herefordshire. 

In addition to this, we stock Oldfields cider produced by the Thompson family who have been producing cider from their farm ‘Oldfields’, nestled in Tenbury Wells “the town in the orchard” and the heart of the Teme Valley, Worcestershire, since 1960.

We also stock Hawkstone cider, Hawkstone premium lager and Hawkstone IPA on draught.

Butty Bach

Butty Bach, the ‘superior name in premium ale’ is a Welsh term meaning ‘little friend’. Produced only 9 miles away by Wyve Vallery Brewery using Maris Otter and Crystal malts, together with locally grown Fuggles, Goldings and Bramling Cross hops, with such fine ingredients, it remains a firm favourite. 4.5% ABV.

Hawkstone Cider

Hawkstone Cider is as a premium British cider crafted to highlight the best of English apples. It offers a crisp, refreshing taste with notes of ripe apple, pear, and subtle floral hints, finishing dry and clean on the palate. Lightly sparkling and delightfully refreshing. 5.0% ABV.

    Hawkstone Premium Lager

    The original Hawkstone Lager. The Iconic One. Lager born on Diddly Squat Farm. Bold, yet balanced, with a smooth body and top notes of light citrus complemented by a subtle, crisp bitterness and malty. Extremely premium, very drinkable. 4.8% ABV

      Hawkstone IPA

      Using a combination of the finest, characterful hops, Hawkstone IPA is a treat for the senses. With bursts of tropical and citrus, and richness from the malt, it’s perfectly balanced with the hop bitterness that runs through. 4.8% ABV.

        Henry Westons Vintage Cider

        HPA, known as the ‘King of Pale Ales’, is a popular, easy-going real ale that ‘brings people together’. Brewed only 9 miles away by Wye Valley Brewery, locally grown Target and Celeia hops hang out with Maris Otter pale malt to give this understated brew its pale straw colour, citrus hop aroma and a balanced bitter finish. 4.0% ABV.

Oldfields ciders are concentrate-free, suitable for vegetarians and vegans, and gluten-free. 4.8% ABV.

          Stowford Press Apple Cider

          Stowford Press Apple Cider is a pale straw, bright and luminous cider with a fruity aroma. A refreshing medium-dry sparkling cider that is bursting with the delicious flavour of crisp cider apples. Produced locally by Westons Cider in Much Marcle, Ledbury. 4.5% ABV.

            Stowford Press Dark Berry is a vibrant, deep berry coloured cider, produced locally by Westons Cider in Much Marcle, Ledbury.

            Stowford Press Dark Berry is both delicious and refreshing and bursting with the flavour of dark berries. 4.0% ABV.
